2017 intern -- Sales Support

 

The Internship program at Gordon Food Service is a paid 13-week summer program designed to provide a learning experience outside of the classroom to high potential students with interest in our company.  We value this opportunity to deepen relationships across the company, community, and university environments, while also bringing new ideas and talent to our teams. The internship experience at GFS includes individual projects, mentoring, intern events, final presentations and evaluations.

 

As an Intern at Gordon Food Service you, under general supervision, will perform support tasks as directed involving administering a specialized program or performing a specialized assignment in a specific department.

 

 

Our talented Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) members are known for their high standards of productivity, attention to detail, and valuable team partnerships to achieve the best results. As an Intern to the EIS Team you would have the opportunity to work with some of the most advanced processes and protocols to gain hands-on industry experience. You will be assigned to working to assist with Enterprise Information Systems activities to gain hands on knowledge of Security information tools such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and create a lab environment to securely handle suspected malware to add signature content to the SIEM environment to alert and monitor suspicious activity.


Over the course of the summer, you can expect to:

  • Gather all components for the malware lab creation through purchase and request of hardware and software components
  • Provide configuration for all components both hardware and software in lab
  • Support testing of malware lab
  • Document creation process, including the collection and handling of malware

Program requirements and qualifications:

  • Must have at least one semester or more left of school to complete at the beginning of the internship (a senior who has already graduated will not be considered for an internship)
  • Graduation date between December 2018 and August 2019
  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor program in Information Security, or a relevant field
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; (transcript required upon submission of application)
  • Must have good working knowledge of security applications and concepts will be given preference.
  • Must have good working knowledge of multiple operating systems and ability to understand rudimentary database statements
  • Familiarity with network security tools
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
