Here’s what our Field Technicians (Chemical & Beverage) are focused on:

The beverage machines in restaurants, schools, and hospitals require someone who can calibrate the mix and ensure the liquids to ensure quality for each customer, trouble shoot technical issues, and install equipment. That’s where you come in! This role is a mixture of preventative maintenance, installation, and customer engagement for your established route within this market.

 

Also, in keeping with food service regulations, anywhere food is prepared for customers, it is required they use certain chemicals and processes to comply with department of health – that’s where you come in – to support our customers with their purchases and equipment used for this portion of food service operations.

 


Location: From where you live – to where your customers are! Your office is your company vehicle!

Route:  Greater Akron, OH area

Position requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience: 2 years previous sales and equipment repair experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 
  • Valid state driver's license (required)
  • Clean driving record (we will run an MVR)
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Work Schedule: 

  • This is a Monday – Friday position
  • Start time: May be between 6-8 am
  • End time:  May be between 5-6pm or until finish
  • From time to time, we might need you other hours / days of the week (flexibility is important).
  • This position requires the ability to provide on call rotation every 3-4 weeks, emergency services on a 24 hour, 7 days a week basis (specific hours will be discussed during the interview process).

Essential functions include:

  • Coordinating and performing schedule installations and preventative maintenance and service according to Gordon Food Service standards
  • Interprets maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, repairs equipment, and appropriate tools and training
  • Utilizes time effectively to reach weekly, monthly, and yearly goals. Plans each day accordingly to meet the daily work plans
  • Build relationships with existing customer accounts in order to grow sales
  • Provide additional technical support to Specialists and Customer Development Specialist (CDS) as needed
  • Maintain quality maintenance schedule within the territory, logging all activities for quality assurance purposes

 

Other skills, abilities and requirements needed for this position:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to conduct successful Sales opportunities
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple tasks in a professional and timely manner
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, email and internet software applications (highly preferred)
  • Knowledge of Metrix and Mobile software applications (preferred )
  • Mechanical Aptitude - displays strong mechanical aptitude; adheres to all electrical, plumbing, health and sanitation codes; adheres to safety protocols. Knowledge of products, equipment, and tools needed to complete the tasks required of this job (install/maintain/fix). Ability to correctly interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Physical Abilities and attributes - ability to perform physical aspects of the job, including heavy lifting of machines. Must have a professional appearance and proper hygiene
  • Human Relations - Must be a team player, goal oriented, self-motivated, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Successfully pass our drug screen, motor vehicle report (MVR) and background check requirements (criminal background check, yes – we do not check your credit score)
  • Valid email so we can follow up with you and let you know what’s happening next in the process
