Our Accounting and Finance teams play an important role in keeping Gordon Food Service operating effectively and efficiently. From strategic work in the development of annual and long-range operating plans to establishing infrastructure that keeps financial transactions flowing efficiently (our employees and vendors like that!), to credit operations that recognize the unique positions of our customers large and small.....we are reliant on this group of professionals and the work they do each week, each month, each quarter.
Plans and manages accounting activities within Business Unit Finance. Leads, develops, interprets and implements complex financial and accounting concepts or techniques for financial planning and control. Ensures that generally accepted accounting principles are followed. Oversees the timely and accurate completion of period end closings and financial reporting. Supports the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long Range Plan (LRP), as well as month-end close expense analysis for division operating departments within the Canadian business unit. Key responsibilities include establishing best practices, setting targets, managing the close calendar, guidelines and assumptions, and the coordination of activities for the business unit related to the financial segments of AOP and LRP.
